Electricity - General Information

Electricity is supplied to Beaufort West from Eskom via the Droërivier Substation by means of 2 x 22kV 6km overhead electricity lines.  The 22kV supply from Eskom is distributed by 2 22/11kV substations by means of an 11kV overhead electricity lines and underground cables to 38 substations, 11 miniature substations and 75 transformers.

The measuring of electricity is executed by means of credit reading and pre-paid readings.  Total of + 7912 households are supplied with electricity.  The total units purchased for the past financial year amounts to 47 million.
